In today’s episode we are joined by James Winestock and it’s a cracker of a conversation. This is a topic that we have wanted to explore for a long time on the Evolving Love podcast, and we are so glad we had James to explore it with.
When we reached out to him to ask for his bio he sent us this, so here it is:
James Winestock is a lapsed historian who is now head of editorial at InspiredtoWrite where he helps his wife Amie tag dialogue correctly. He is the host of the Unpublished Podcast, writes fantasy novels in his spare time, and thinks Substack is the next big thing.
What James forgot to include in this bio, is that he is a man who thinks deeply about what it means to be a man, and how societies relationship to masculinity is evolving. He is thoughtful, kind, sensitive, strong, intelligent and embodies so much of what we admire in masculinity.
In today’s conversation we discuss whether men deserve a voice, sensitive men, rolemodels, social media and the influence of the manosphere, how to bring men into the conversation, how men can advocate for men’s issues and hold feminist ideals in tandem, the importance of men expressing affection, the role of a competitive nature in masculinity, why every man must own a lamp, how Liam’s masculinity impacts on his metamour relationships, and Liam and I have a bust-up that is mediated by James over how Liam makes my tea…
