I could feel the heat rise through my body as my stomach sunk. Was this really happening? Is what I am feeling jealousy? This felt bigger than the complexities of jealousy. I realised that I was in a complete state of fear. I looked around the party at all of the people laughing and chatting and I could feel the beat of the music thudding deeply through my body. Was it getting louder?

My head felt like it was in a vice.

Where had my husband gone? And where was she?

She had been lingering near us all night long with her eyes glued to my husband. But in the space of a few minutes I had lost my awareness as to where she was, as I politely nodded and said goodnight to the people who we had met earlier on. The night was drawing to a close and I could feel myself getting tired and knew that surely Liam must be tired too. My eyes scanned the room as I sipped my water. Where the hell was Liam? After breaking free from a conversation and searching the downstairs of the party, I realised that Liam must be upstairs. I also noticed that she was nowhere to be seen too. This was now starting to feel like a sick nightmare as I played out every worst case scenario.

I rushed by people at the party and quickly made my way up the stairs to our room. As I opened the door, I gasped in shock at what I saw.
