Non-monogamy teaches me to let go, in multiple ways. Connections don’t always stay the same, they ebb and flow, move and shift. They transition to where they can and need to be. More people mean more moving parts, with multiple hearts to care for and take into consideration.

We choose to connect with people who understand this. For us, the more relaxed and understanding of the inevitable shifting that is involved, the more possibility there is for a connection to span over a longer period of time.

Monogamy can have people riding the relationship escalator, and if the escalator hits a pause- panic or distress can surface. Monogamous relationships are often binary, they are mostly on or off.
