Today we are joined by Kate Gordon. Kate competed at the Cross Fit Games in 2015 and 2019 and has since become a certified Cross fit trainer and certified nutrition coach. In 2021 she started CFK nutrition and also hosts two podcasts - Gone Rogue which explores her journey in non-monogamy, and the CFK nutrition podcast.
In a world saturated with airbrushed images and relentless fitness trends, it's easy to feel lost in a sea of unrealistic expectations. But what if we shifted our focus from chasing an impossible ideal to celebrating the bodies we already inhabit? The pressure can be amplified when navigating non-monogamous relationships, where societal norms around desirability and "ideal" bodies can feel even more pervasive.
As an athlete and nutritionist, Kate brings a unique perspective to this conversation, and her vulnerability opened the door to allow Abbey and I to share our own journey with self-acceptance and body image.
In this discussion we discuss the impact of Kate’s Crossfit journey on body image, shifting perspectives on fitness and aesthetics, influences of external relationships on body perception, finding lifestyle compatibilities with future partners, body acceptance at sex parties, social media, self-acceptance and so much more.
